The LOJ Conversions Gen I/II Small Block Chevy (SBC Engines) to Hemi 8HP / ZF8 (8HP70, 8HP75, 8HP90, 8HP95) Transmission Adapter specifically designed for mating to sought after ZF 8-Speed transmissions to your favorite Chevy engines. The straight-forward approach and overall simple design will allow a seamless integration of these engines with the Hemi Truck and Car versions of the ZF8. The adapter plate design incorporates a 360* mounting surface for enhanced rigidity. 

The included Billet Aluminum Converter Adapter is designed to work with the Hemi 8HP Torque Converter and both 10.75" and 11.5" Chevy converter bolt patterns. Why not a complete billet flexplate? Because many small block engines are externally balanced, and this adapter allows you to keep your rotating assembly as-is, with no rebalance necessary. 

LOJ recommends to change the fluid and filter when swapping a Used Transmission. The ZF Service Kit can be purchased here --> ZF Service Kit

  • Billet Aluminum Converter Adapter, 4.5lbs Rotating Mass, CNC machined, anodized, and laser engraved for long lasting good looks.
  • 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum Transmission Adapter Plate fabricated from USA Sourced Metallurgically Certified Heat Treated Aluminum with integrated dust shield.
  • Zinc-Plated Grade 8.8 or Higher Hardware

  • All SBC Engines, Gen 1 and 2, One-Piece Rear Main Seal or Two-Piece Rear Main Seal.
  • All BBC Engines, Gen 4 and Gen 5.
  • BOP Engines.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Will this kit require any modifications to my engine or transmission?
    • No! (Kinda). The Ram 8HP transmissions have provisions for factory starters on both sides of the bellhousing. The LS engine does not allow a LH side mounted starter (US Drivers Side) so our adapter plate does not account for it. Some LS Headers hug that side of the block tight, and the bulge on the side of the bellhousing might interfere. We have no way to know this, and you might need to but that bulge off to make room.
  • Will this kit work with the Mopar/Dodge Charger, Challenger 8HP transmissions? 
    • Yes. However the car versions of the transmissions do not have provisions for a RH (US Passenger) side starter. You would need to cut the bell to clear the snout of the starter.
